What Guarantees and Warranties are available for Steller Floors?

Below we provide an executive summary of our 30 Day Craftsmanship Guarantee (Standard Warranty) and the additional Lifetime Limited Warranty that is available at an additional cost. You may review the full details of the warranty on the full Steller Floors Website.

1. Standard Warranty

• Who & What’s Covered:
  All Steller Floors products automatically come with a Standard Warranty, at no extra cost. Coverage is limited to individual flooring boards and assembly clips, not entire orders, unless all are proven defective.

• Coverage Period:
  30 days after delivery.

• Plank Guarantees:
  Planks are guaranteed defect-free and meet/exceed industry standards (NWFA) for flatness, straightness, finish, and moisture content.

• Clip Guarantees:
  Plastic assembly clips are guaranteed to be defect-free and function as intended.

• Material-Only Replacement:
  If a product is defective, replacement material is provided free—labor or installation costs are NOT covered. Defective material must be returned to Steller Floors.

• Customer Responsibilities:
  Customers must:

  • Inspect flooring for defects before installation.

  • Install and maintain the floor according to Steller Floors’ instructions (especially acclimation and subfloor prep).

  • Register their product within 30 days (recommended, but not required for standard warranty).

• Exclusions:
  Warranty does not cover:

  • Improper installation, poor maintenance, or failure to follow acclimation guidelines.

  • Damage from flooding, excessive moisture, accidents, or misuse.

  • Normal wear and tear (scratches, dents, color changes).

  • Natural wood characteristics and color/grain variations.

  • Commercial or outdoor use.

  • Temporary shape changes due to humidity swings that correct themselves with acclimation.

• Claims:
  Claims must be submitted via a “Continuing Commitment” support ticket (support@floorsbysteller.com). Steller Floors reserves inspection rights.

2. Limited Lifetime Warranty Addendum (If Purchased)

• Who & What’s Covered:
  Only applies to original owners who register within 30 days of delivery. Not transferrable except in very specific cases (with proper registration).

• Coverage Period:
  For as long as the original owner has the floor.

• Additional Protections:

  • Covers both planks and clips—even if defects appear after installation.

  • Planks are covered against permanent shape changes, and even if exposed to short-term water (less than 48 hours), will return to flatness after proper acclimation.

  • Custom planks may be refunded pro-rata if replacement is not possible.

• Usage Flexibility:

  • Compatible with subfloor heating (up to 80°F), cooling, below-grade and concrete installations (with proper moisture mitigation), and personal mobility scooters.

Bottom Line:

• Standard Warranty: 30 days, material-only, covers manufacturer defects, and is void if installation/maintenance instructions aren’t followed.

• Limited Lifetime Warranty: Available as an upgrade, must be registered, extends coverage for the lifetime of your ownership—including for issues found after installation.
